        5. National Pancake Day—celebrating at least at IHOP free buttermilk pancakes with a suggestion to make a contribution to Children’s Miracle Hospitals.
        6. Blonde Bombshell Day—commemorating the birthday on this day in 1911 of one of the icon actresses of the 30’s, an epitome of sexuality, Jean Harlow who died from kidney failure at the age of 26.                                                
On this day in
     a. 1776 the U.S. Marine Corps in its first amphibious operation came ashore to seize British stores of gunpowder at Nassau, Bermuda.   
     b. 1873 in a blow to the First Amendment, the U.S. Congress passed the Comstock Act, which prevented the use of the mail to send obscene, lewd or lascivious books.    
     c. 1923 Time magazine was published for the first time.  
     d. 1938 in a great moment for the Bedouins of Saudi Arabia, oil was discovered.      
     e. 1991 an amateur video recorded the beating of Rodney King by the LAPD.
