Philae Lands On Comet But Batteries Now Drained

When the minds of humans are charged to a scientific problem solve
It is amazing what often evolves
To land a probe Philae on a comet hurtling though the void of space toward the Sun
Boggles the mind even though the batteries were drained and the experiments now done
The harpoon that was supposed to hold the probe in place
Failed to deploy and the probe was shielded from the Sun by the comet's  cliff face
57 hours of data still managed to find its way to Earth
Info on the galaxies’ early billions of years ago birth
This was not a mission of NASA but from the ESA
Another example of a decline in American leadership on display?
We have lost the ultimate high ground and now before the Russians must beg
To put Americans into space we now have no more rocket legs
