DUIs Alive And Well In Costa Mesa But Arrests Fall As DUI Unit Disbanded

When it came to having near certainty to pick up a DUI

Costa Mesa with its DUI team was arresting as fast as the bars would supply

Over 800 arrests to from the roads attempt to sweep

Those drivers who upped the odds to put themselves or other drivers in a hospital or in a morgue for a permanent sleep

The news in the Daily Pilot is that the DUI team will now disband

One can only hope the DUI scourge does not get completely out of hand

If we were serious about DUIs as we are about smog

Here is an idea that would reduce the police arrest logs

Like a catalytic converter that is an absolute must

All cars should be equipped with an interlock to lower the DUI busts

The lawyers and DMV schools would bemoan fees they would lose

But there be a lot less funerals and a lot less drivers in jail to their DUI rue.
